Workshops

The Workshops are designed to be a practical and hands on experience which will teach you the basics of designing, preparing and putting up a Print Room in the traditional purist manner. The only things that differ in the way we put it up today and the way it was put up in the 18th century is that we use an anti fungicide wheat paste and we apply a top sealant coat that is wipeable and will keep the room sealed and fresh.

The standard Print Room course takes place over two full days. It is held at a private facility in Newport, Rhode Island. The course itself includes all instruction, materials, lunch and tea. Accomodations will be made available and reservations as a group at a Newport restaurant are made for dinner which enables us to discuss and have questions answered over the course of the evening meal.

The course is a total emmersion back into the 18th century.
The Workshop Content is based on the original format introduced by Nicola Wingate-Saul.
