No, we are not 100% green, but I can say that our carbon footprint for putting up a Print Room is very very low.
Why?
The technique was developed in the 1750's when everything was as natural as it could be.
We have always prided ourselves on being purists and creating Print Rooms as they were done over 250 years ago. There are only two things we do differently.
The first is we use a Wheat Paste or a comparable Wall Paper Paste that has an antifungicide in it. Wheat paste (the wheat) could develop mold over the years and we have chosen to combat it with a newer product. The second thing we do is we use a sealant over the Print Room so the prints are wipeable and it also seals them onto the wall very nicely.
Other than that: The papers are the same papers used originally. We do not have any control over the inks used to print and cannot honestly tell you if they are non-toxic or not.
Everything else we do is as it was done way back when.
We would also like to recommend a Paint Company that we feel has Print Room compatable colors. You may choose their standard line or their new "Green" non toxic line. Devine Color is a paint company designed by women, owned by women and run by women. The colors are a strong yet pale and soft palatte. They can only be analogized to some very fine English and European paint companies and I think you will enjoy their product. Logon and see what they have. www.devinecolor.com
